Panasonic selects Broadcom 3G Platform for their T21 Android Smartphones

 Broadcom today announced that Panasonic has chosen Broadcom’s 3G smartphone platform for its new Android-based T21 smartphones. One of the main driving points for this decision might be, the “two-plus-two” architecture which includes two CPU’s and two VPU’s.

The Panasonic T21 smartphone is powered by BCM28145. The phone comes with 4.5 inch HD screen, 8MP camera, 1GB RAM. Along with the two CPU and two VPU, the baseband also includes a globally proven 21.1/5.8 Mbps HSPA+ modem.

With a 4.5 inch high-definition screen, 8-megapixel back camera, and one gigabyte of RAM, the Panasonic T21 smartphone is powered by the BCM28145, which is optimized to support the latest Android Jelly Bean Operating system (OS). In addition to two CPUs and two VPUs, the baseband also includes a globally proven 21.1/5.8 Mbps HSPA+ modem. With VideoCore® multimedia support, the platform enables advanced 3D user interfaces and high-resolution video and camera functionality.  Broadcom’s complete platform approach integrates cellular baseband processors with its wireless connectivity technologies including dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM and multi-constellation GNSS location support.
