OnePlus 2 confirms the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and probable pricing
OnePlus has begun revealing tidbits about the upcoming OnePlus 2 device. Thought it revealed ealier that the device will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, lots of people had concerns about the overheating reported earlier with the processor.
Folks at OnePlus have explained that the 810 is much powerful than the Snapdragon 801 in OnePlus One and is also more expensive by about 60%. Since Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 is the top-of-the-line processor out there, having it in OnePlus 2 has set a minimum price of $322. But to maintain the stability and performance of the processor and also to run it a cooler temperature, the processor is clocked at 1.8 GHz.
To remind you folks, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 comes with 8-cores in ARM Big-little architecture. In this Big-Little heterogenous computing architecture, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 couples slower, low-power processor cores with relatively faster, high-power processor cores in order to reduce energy consumption. The “big” or faster cores are used for computation-intensive tasks such as gaming, whereas the “little” or slower cores are used for less intensive tasks. It has a high performing CPU with a maximum clock speed of 2,500.00 MHz. It has 8 core(s), resulting in extremely efficient multi-tasking when compared to dual core processors.
