Nokia 500 smartphone announced

Nokia has officially announced its latest smartphone, the Nokia 500.

The phone comes with a jaw-dropping 1 GHz processor and has Symbian Anna on-board. The phone is given a 3.2-inch Capacitive touch display and has 640*360 pix resolution. The phone does come with a 5 MP EDoF camera which seems to be a standard with Nokia phones. Since the phone comes with Symbian Anna, the UI will be more peppier and easy to use.

The phone comes with a 2GB storage and can have upto 32GB additional storage using micro-SD Card. The phone has been fitted with the pentaband radios and hence you can roam around the world without worrying about changing the phone. The phone also supports 3G upto HSUPA speed.

The other things packed into the phone are Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi b/g. The phone measures 111.3 * 53.8 * 14.1 mm and weighs around 93g.

The phone is expected to be good on Battery use with 5-7 hrs of talktime and more than 450 hrs when it is on standby or 35 hrs if you are hooked to music on phone.

The phone will come in 5 different colours, Black, White, purple, azure blue, pink, coral red, orange and dark silver and will be available in the order mentioned. The phone will come with 3 diff back covers in the box.

The phone would be priced around €150 or $220 and available around Q3 of this year.

Update: The phone will officially get Symbian Belle by the end of this year.
