Microsoft trying for Operator Billing enablement in India
Microsoft is going with its talks major Indian telecom operators to get Operator Billing enabled for Windows Phone users in India. Operator billing allows users to purchase apps and games from Windows Phone store via their Mobile account balance or bill.
Speaking at Windows Phone 8.1 launch event in India, Microsoft India director for Windows Phone category Vineet Durani told “We are in the process of announcing a telecom operator for the above facility within the next few months”.
Microsoft, which currently has over 4,15,000 applications for sale in the Windows Phone store and normally, these purchases are available via Credit/Debit card. With the introduction of operator billing, customers will be allowed to buy apps or games through the operators via mobile bills or balance.
