Huawei’s Mate 8 will be available globally
Huawei has emerged globally as one of the manufacturers coming up with some excellent devices. Nexus 6P made news for its build quality. On the same lines, their Mate 8 flagship has good build and specs.
Announced in Nov 2015, Huawei announced at their CES Press conference that the Mate 8 device will get global launch. The device comes with 6-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It runs their own Kirin 950 octa-core processor with a combination of four Cortex-A72 and four Cortex-A53 CPU cores. It will come with either 3 or 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and ARM’s flagship Mali-T880 GPU. It has a 16MP rear camera with Sony IMX298 sensor and an 8MP front facing camera.
It has a 4000mAh battery which seems to be sufficient for 2-day usage, is capable of charging super quick. The phone also hosts a fingerprint sensor on the back and seems to be 100% faster. It doesn’t come with USB Type-C port. The device comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with EMUI skin with customizations over it.
Mate 8 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage priced at $643 and 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage comes at $750. It comes in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray and Mocha brown.
It will be available in 30 countries throughout Western Europe, UAE, Mexico and Australia. Availability in the US is still not clear.
