How to root Samsung Galaxy Note

Somehow all other utilities to root Samsung Galaxy Note won’t succeed in rooting. The only alternative I found was to flash an already rooted ROM (Android 2.3.6) on Samsung Galaxy Note.

Step 1: Download the required files listed below

Step 2: Extract the ROM Zip file into a folder anywhere on your PC.

Step 3: Ensure that Samsung KIES is not running.

Step 4: Launch ODIN downloaded in Step 1.

Step 5: Turn of your Galaxy Note. Press and Hold ->> Volume Down + Home + Power Buttons together. The phone will now boot into Download Mode.

Step 6: Connect your device to PC via USB cable. ODIN will detect your device.

Step 7: Click on PDA and select the Rooted_Stock_Odex_N7000DDLB2.tar.md5 file extracted in Step 2.

Step 8: Click on Modem and select MODEM.tar.md5

Step 9: Click on CSC and select CSC_N7000ODDLA1_INU.tar.md5.

Step 10: Click start in ODIN. ODIN will now flash the selected ROM onto your device.

Now, you should be having a ROOTED ROM on your device. You can use this method to flash Custom ROM’s too.
