H1B Cap Random Selection/Lottery is complete for 2016
US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) collected petitions for H1B for the year 2016 starting 1st April 2015 till 07th April 2015.
During this period, USCIS received a total of around 233,000 H-1B petitions including petitions filed for advanced degree exemption. USCIS uses a computer generated method to select the required number of petitions every year and this time on April 13, USCIS used a computer-generated random selection process, or lottery, to select enough petitions to meet the 65,000 general-category cap and the 20,000 cap under the advanced degree exemption.
USCIS will reject and return all unselected petitions with their filing fees, unless the petition is found to be a duplicate filing.
If you have applied for H1B this year, you can start expecting the outcome of your petition filing soon.
