Scotch Whisky producing regions and Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve
Black Dog Scotch Whisky is distilled, aged and blended in Scotland. Black Dog is currently the fastest growing Scotch Whisky by volume as per International Wine and Spirits Research (IWSR).
The Scotch come from different regions of Scotland – The Highlands, Lowland, Islay, and Speyside.
There are huge number of distilleries spread across different regions of Scotland listed above. Whisky produced at each distillery is different from each other. However, the malts produced in each region have some common characteristics which separate them from other regions.
Islay – The whiskies from the distilleries of Islay have smoky character derived from Peat and strongest flavored of single malts. This is due to both the water and peating levels of the barley. Smoky character is the main characteristic of the Islay malt. It is also believed due to the exposure to high winds and seas of west coast.
Highland – It is the largest whisky producing region in Scotland. It produces whiskies with deeper notes of peat and smoke. We also get Heathery, spicy character to fruity whisky depending on the region in Highlands.
Lowland – Scotch from this region are mostly light bodies of Single malts.
Speyside – The region got its name from the river Spey. Geographically, it is part of Highlands, but is considered a separate region because of its characteristics. Distilleries in this region use the water straight from the river Spey in the production process. The malt produced here is known for Sweetness and have elegant flavors and aroma.
Black Dog gets the best from all these regions and hence is renowned for its taste and quality.
The new Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve Scotch Whisky is unique as its Triple Matured Scotch. Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve has been created by selecting grain whiskies and malt whiskies and maturing them separately in American Bourbon Casks and then blending them together and maturing them again in Oloroso Sherry Butts.
Triple Gold Reserve does carry the unique characteristics listed above from different regions of Scotland and is blended together to get the fine rich taste and flavor in it. It is the perfect mixture of subtleness and complexity. It is an ideal Scotch whisky for anyone and everyone who loves Scotch Whisky.
If one wants to enjoy the best of all the regions, TGR is the one as it gets the characteristics of whiskies from all regions of Scotland and is the perfect Scotch Whisky.
