Black Dog and the new Triple Gold Reserve
Last year, I spoke extensively about Black Dog. Black Dog was launched way back in 1883 by Sir Walter Millard – a Scot. This rich blend which was created by James McKinley who belonged to second generation of Leith Scotch-Whiskey blending family (based in EdinBurgh) and together with Sir Walter Millard launched the Scotch-Whiskey by the name Millard Black Dog.
Black Dog is considered to be 100% genuine Scotch-whiskey distilled, matured and blended in the lowland regions of Scotland. Sir Walter Millard was an Angler, and the named this perfect blend of Scotch Wisky as Black Dog which was his favourite salmon fishing fly. The name and the brand lives on as One of the world’s finest Scotch Whiskey.

5 Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve
And now, finally we have a new entrant here – The Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve. As the name suggests, is the only blended Scotch that is produced involving triple maturation process. The triple maturation process which involves Grain whiskies and Malt whiskies separately matured in American Bourbon Casks and then blended together and matured again in Oloroso Sherry Butts for an extra longer period of time to give the blend a distinctive flavour and a delicate finish giving it a position next to any 12 year old blended Scotch.
